My 3ft, 20 gal tropical aquarium. This is my first attempt at a planted tank, it is filtered by 2 internals, and I use pressurised co2. Lighting is 2 39w T5 Hi glo lights.
It is home to 2 x m. trifasciata; 2x female m. boesmani; 4 x m.praecox. 1 Bristlenose; 2 Black Skirt Tetras; 1x White Skirt Tetra; 8 rummy nose tetras, Amano & Rainbow Shrimps, and various snails.
I'm not 100% certain on the rainbowfish ID, they were labelled as boesmani in the shop but at least 2 of them were mislabelled, so if anyone can confirm their ID I would be very grateful.

  • Anyone know how to breed dwarf gouramis???

  • @13donnie I saw that this was posted a couple year ago so how is your tank doing. I just started with a 10 gallon planted aquarium with some christmas moss and japanese moss balls. Thanks....any tips please let me know

  • Looks like you got money, i would say you should try discus planted. Great fish king of freshwater, go well with tetras and rainbows also planted tanks make them happy

  • Hi, looks like you definately have Dwarf or Neon Blue Rainbowfish (Praecox rainbow), and along with the

Boesemans Rainbowfish (Melanotaenia bosemani) you might possibly have a young banded Rainbowfish (Melanotaenia trifasciata)....but I didnt really get a good look.

    Nice setup though :-)
