@Canadaisthebest100 Well there are many possible stories for the conception of the seed which would later become the modern day Spey cast, including one from your neck of the woods, in that the Canadian inuit used a hand lining technique for Char that followed the same principle, but the actual spey cast, while crudely used here for centuries, was honed into what we use today on the river Spey by Alexander Grant, some time in the 1800's, hence the name the 'Spey Cast'.

@chilipepperslooney The spey cast was invented close to your home?? You must be Chinese?? The first book about flyfishing was published in UK, yes, I think in the late 15th century, by a woman. But there are artifacts in China that prove that it originated well before that. And I am sure the Chinese did some sort of Spey casting. But yes, I will give you benefit of the doubt that "modern day" spey originated in UK.

@chilipepperslooney ya sure you do, just looking at snake rolls on youtube doesn't count. lol

@Canadaisthebest100 Oh, don't get me wrong, I do spey cast, both double and single and I use the snake roll if I have to, It was all the majorette style ribbon twirling that i was wondering about! Like I said though I don't mean any disrespect and I enjoy watching it, I just didn't quite get it, though i guess if you can cast like that, it must do wonders when 'real' casting for your overall control, accuracy, presentation etc
Do you like the loop xact? is it good for most fly fishing situations?

@mrbassinthecover
it's a very good rod.Very smooth, good for hooking and very flexible... so you tackle the fish pretty good (smaller and bigger ones). allthough i have a 7# rod, its very light and flexible. And with these good casting-conditions it became my personal favorite.
Best regards
