  • Guys, chill out. :) We certainly love what we do and that should be quite apparent from the games - it's nigh impossible to create great games if you don't love doing it. We're not swimming in cash or buying Ferraris though (but certainly we're doing a lot better than a few years ago). And if (online) multiplayer is what you're looking for, then take a look at Trine 2 (we finally had enough money/resources to rewrite our whole engine, which took over a year in itself, so we got online included).

  • The reasons for why i crack the game before buying it:

    1. To see if i can run it

    2. To see if the game is worth the money.

If i can run it and the game is worth the price, then i'm getting it on Steam no matter if it's just SP or MP.

  • @KabraxisOblivion I already bought Trine 2 cause of the MP, like i said i bought many singleplayer games as well, but people like bl4ck0c4t pisses me off. I see no reason to hate on people cause they are smart enough to crack a game and get it for free, and i do respect this company, what i said previously "why the fuck should i spend my hard earned money on it when they are making millions on sitting on their fat ass and making a computer game?" i was refering to all games, MW3 etc.

  • @Catalytera The company just answered your comment. Just wanted to inform you.

And... maybe big companies who are publishing games make millions of dollars like EA or Activision... but indie companies should really get our support. :)

And if they make a game "easy to crack" they're not begging for pirates.. for me it's a sign of trust. Ever heard of the discussion that DRM is more painful for those who buy the game than for pirates ('cause pirates crack them anyway)? :)

  • @Catalytera

    oh okay

so if everyone takes your advice noone will be payed to make games.

  • @bl4ck0c4t And trust me they get enough money. They are making millions on that game, so why the fuck should i spend my hard earned money on it when they are making millions on sitting on their fat ass and making a computer game? I'm a game developer in my sparetime and i don't make games for the money, i do it cause i love it. If they don't love what they do, they don't deserve any money at all.

  • @bl4ck0c4t Why the fuck are you mad? Is this your game? No, so gtfo meathead! They could just make it more secure, it's not my problem that they made it so easy to crack, it's like they are begging for people to crack it. And what if i don't have a "fun time playing it"? I've cracked a lot of games where i played it and thought "What the fuck is this shit?" and then removed it from my computer.

  • @Catalytera

And FFS the game was at 5 dollars,

you can afford skyrim, just cause, amnesia and other games but you cant spend 5 dollars because the game doest have multiplayer?

  • @Catalytera

    what donations?

when you're buying a game you're supporting the developers that made it.

they dont want you to donate, because by buying the game you're already helping them.

the only nice thing you can do is pay them back for the fun time you had with the game that they made for you to enjoy.

and like I said, specially for indie developers.

Trine is an indie game, it was made by independent developers that dont get any support except for the money you spend on buying the game

  • @bl4ck0c4t Actually i bought lots of singleplayer games as well, but mostly bcause there's no good crack for it. I bought Skyrim for 33€, BioShock, Amnesia, Just Cause 2, Limbo, Metro 2033 and many other, but only because i'm tired of going to tpb and find a good crack, it's easier to install on steam. If the company asked for donations, would you donate 49,99€? I don't think so.
