Great uptempo song from Philadelphia International Records album Survival from 1975.

And since 1975 nothing has changed except that we have a few more super rich people and much, much more poor people.

  • Why only the same sixteen families always be richer in the world ? Why we don't fight for the poor ha we need more fair for the rest.

  • @taylor4660 Product of the times?--that may be so, and indeed each generation has its strengths and weaknesses. I must say however, Music and song are truly gifts from above, from God our Creator. Being products of the times though, should not necessitate this generation to becoming continually degrading, particularly with regard to the Divine gift of music. Let me say, I truly agree with your asessment that a sense of awareness has been lost. It can though be found.

  • @jookinmus In the past two decades adults have acquired redefined and energetic sense of spirit however a sense of awareness had been lost and truly reduced when it comes to our younger adults. Product of the times. Each generation has its strengths and shortcomings; combine with cultural society what we see is what we get.

  • @taylor4660 Very interesting. I take it that you are talking about Kenneth Gamble. Incidentally, the fact that producers like Leon Huff and Kenny Gamble read substantive material whom Ferdinand Lundberg wrote, attests to the musical QUALITY we once enjoyed. However, even this world is passing away

  • The super wealthy NEED the poor. Who would they have to lord it over? Who would clean their toilets if everyone was doing well? Bobby Womack said it best on "Across 110th Street": "The family on the other side of town would catch hell without a ghetto around".

  • @angelbeyondsaveme Gamble and Huff always wrote powerful lyrics. And like they say, some things have changed and some things have remained the same. The rich are getting richer and the poor, oh well.

  • Golden undisputed rule of the FREE MARKET monetary system which nobody can deny! First thing I learn't after learning how to add/subtract. (?: How many NON millionarres are there in Congress? answer- 0) What a scam, baby yow...

  • This song was 35 years ahead of its time.

    :-)

  • the message is even more true today cause they sucking the life out of the little man
