Why does everybody including the media keep saying they were convicted for shooting a drug smuggler...INCORRECT... they were convicted for lying about it , covering the evidence... disposing of the empty shells.. and filing a false report

You're correct. Neither would care because it's like they don't really want the border patrol there in the first place. The big companies that require some jobs to be manual labor (where there's not any skilled labor required, and making the job automated would be costly) are loving this. They have a river of never ending cheap labor which = more profit for them. Take for instance the company that made kosher meat in Iowa I believe. You might have heard about it.

The US politicians behave apathetically towards the case because the American's are not standing strong enough to demand for justice.
Imagine what if all the police officers involved in shooting the unarmed man Sean Bell to death were sentenced to more than ten years in jail, do you think the other police officer's would take it? NO WAY! The might even hold a strike to protest it. But if the border agents hold a strike to protest, I don't think Bush and the Mexican government would care.

I haven't heard anything out of them. It would be nice if more Americans in power would start standing up for themselves, their country, and their country's honest citizens instead of pulling something like this.
