When my friend was steeplechasing the horse fell head first and the jockey fell a horse ran over the jockey and he was killed and the horse broke his neck and was destroyed :(
strange how most of the people who defend horse jumping work in it? id say 90% hate it, because its cruel and the 10% that dont work in it, wonder why?
@Rimfaxe96 That actually isn't fully correct. Imagine a large herd of wild horses running at full speed and there is a log in the way. The ones in the middle may not get enough time move around so they jump. Horse do jump naturally in the wild just not extensively high jumps like show jumping and everything. I have seen horses shy away from jumps before and then the riders whip them and everything. If it was a small log or pile of a small pile of hay bales I am sure the horse would jump easily.
Steeplechase in animal abuse/cruelty. And don´t say it´s just like normal galopp racing just with obstacles, this jumping and these long distances are why it´s cruelty. It´s highly dangerous for the horses to jump in highspeed over an obstacle, most of them were not breed for jumping, only for the speed. Just imagine how hard they must land. And seriously, there are way more "accidents" by steeplechase then galopp racing. They aren´t accidents anymore, they are normal.
@funkycheezegirl Jumping with horses in any way is not natural. Wild horses don´t jump over obstacles, they run around it. You can even see this behavior when a show jumping horse is outside. Well, at least I did. ;)
we don't seem to have as many horses injured in show jumping, is it the nature of the jumps, or that the horses are trying to jump in such a tight pack, or something else that causes such an increased rate of injuries and deaths?
Please get the real facts from actual people who work with horses before you throw stones. Impossible for a 110 person to make a 1100 pound horse to do anything they doen't want to do....
would u lot just fuck off making these videos! if u dont work in racing u have no idea how well we look after our horses! 370 dead in 1year is a bloody small percentage when u consider how many tens of thousands of horses race in the uk each year! go fuck yourselfs!
This is terrible. The horses doesn't deserve this pain. A waste of good friends..

@funkycheezegirl True; but they wouldn´t jump over so hihg obstacles like in steeplechase. They would just slow down and trot around it.
