I agree, even if Mel was in it for 5 minutes, it would give the story substance. This one should be called Max Jr. Pretender Max, whatever. Mad Max = Mel Gibson. This is not like James Bond / 007 you can replace every 6 months. After all last time we watched Max, he was still alive and kicking :)

I know it it's a shame, I don't see how this can be a true MM movie without Mel, even if he plays a father figure to a son or an adapoted son, a handing down of the flame that is Max.

Miller stated offically that Mel will not be in Mad Max 4: Fury Road, citing his advanced age and his concentration on making films of his own.
