Hmm..I have mixed feelings about this. First, I am excited to see these bears having snow at their disposal, so they can get a sense of normalcy, thank you donors; but at the same time, the only question going through my mind now is: why aren't they in their own habitat in the first place? We should stop trying to entertain humans at the expense of animals. We can be educated by video too you know!

To answer Shloeful - I'm no expert but most animals found in the zoos today come from zoo breeding programs, very few are actually taken from the wild. Occasionally animals confiscated from poaching operations do get into a zoo for the animals safety - i.e. when they can not be turned in a safe manner or the officials feel the animal would not survive. You can find more information look at the Association of Zoos and Aquariums website

Why dont we do another snow day, but donate all the snow to the north pole!! Lets just start filling up the north pole with snow so polar bears can have fun there too!!!
