@DustyTowne Not stupid explorers without captain cook every boat ride you'd take would be mostly your death because he cured scurvy. Also Captain Cook discovered Hawaii so without him no tropical island vacation for you. Plus, on the general side, without explorers no America. Still think explorers are "Stupid?"

It it, really... only with much greater subtlty. See the juxtoposition of the living sea otter with the parting words proffered regarding it having been hunted to extinction, alongside the description of the fur trade itself as "ruthless."
