In 2008, 19 year old Jessica Dunne was struck by The Meningococcal Virus, leaving her with limited movement and the inability to eat or speak although still being able to see and hear everything around her.
Jessica spent three months in intensive care at the Gold Coast Hospital after undergoing a craniotomy to reduce the swelling in her brain. Her prognosis wasnt good.
Andrew Lofthouse talks with Jessica's mum Karen to get a better understanding of the daily battles they face and how Jessica's rehabilitation is progressing.
RIP Jess
