I am a black man from the caribbean, i visited ancient ethiopia last year to see all of her historic christian culture. addis , gondar ,axum , lalibella... and to my disgust and dismay i saw huge white eurocentric florentine mary and jesus hanging up in the church and dem. when i ask the abuna dem " wha dat!?" dem a say visitors bring it as donations/gifts.
