@manco82 Rosewall won 8 slams and was runner up in 8 which means he had a much worse GS final record. If lendl had won all his slam finals he would have won 19 and instead won 8. Tilden was 14 from 22, borg was 11 from 16, connors and agassi were 8 from 15. There finals records are all worse than feds so before you come out with that drivel learn more about this great sport!
@manco82 16 grand slams warrants being the biggest underachiever ever ?!?! bollocks! he has been in 23 GS finals and lost 4 of them at the french to perhaps the greatest clay clay court player ever. What kills feds is the UE count, failure to convert BP's, the mental side of playing nadal, especially on clay and that he has to go for those tiring repeated shbh's as his slice is so ineffective due to rafa's immense footwork and court coverage.
Federer was too stubborn to employ the drop shots on clay until 2008, by then Nadal was unbeatable on clay despite any tactics. Had he done it 2005-2007, he'd have won all those French Opens without a doubt. Federer is one of the biggest underachievers ever.
@jmsmi22 Aww, his knight and shining armor has arrived. How cute!
Anywayyyy, I was trolling him more than I was putting down Federer, tbh. For someone who claimed he wasn't a Fed fan, the guy was whining over quite a few videos about him. I was simply pointing that out & calling him out for his BS. Out of context, it's hard to see that. Anyway, it was a childish internet argument that went on far too long & over far too many videos. Nothing I'm proud of. But he was being fake, so whatever.
Did he say something that was untrue? Obviously you're a nadal fan, which makes it completely unacceptable for a Federer fan to lament his missed opportunities. Get some perspective, arsehole.
Fed had so many chances to convert break pts. He was outplaying Nadal for large portions of this set, but just didn't fully capitalize. A similar thing occurred in the Wimbledon final 2008, where Fed won just 1 of 12 break pts. You can't realistically hope to beat Rafa, who is relentless and determined on EVERY point, if you fail to break on 99% of your opportunities.
Yeah, stubbornness gets you far because it drives your belief in yourself, but it also has detrimental effects like making you try to win the same way over and over.
there are countless points here where fed only need to drop shot for easy points, but he stubborn about those weak forhands to nadal- and nadal hit the passing shots. the 1 hand backhand wasnt really lost fed those finals but the stupid tactic-less game he possed.
federer is better than nadal on clay. this miht sound stupud but
