An awesome windows history vid i made. from Windows 1.0 to windows 7.

Thanks for watching; please comment, rate, favorite and subscribe---that would be much appreciated :D. Check out my other videos too!

IMPORTANT, Please Read BEFORE commenting:
- This video only contains versions of windows that were actually sold to the public. It does NOT contain beta versions of windows, so *please* don't comment saying "you forgot windows longhorn" or something similar.

- NOTE: I made a mistake in this vid as well--I said Windows 2000 was the last NT-based Windows operating system, but it's really not. Windows XP, vista, and 7 are all based off of NT. So please don't post yet another comment telling me that 2000 wasn't the last NT-based Windows version--I know that already!

MUSIC/ SONG INFO: The music in this video is a hidden song in windows xp. It's only in winxp. To find it, open up "my computer" then navigate to C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\oobe\images. then scroll all the way down and you'll find a file called "title.wma." that's the song I used in this video. (If you don't have Windows XP, download the song at http://www2.mp3raid.com/search/download-mp3/20462311/windows_xp_welcome_music...)

  • isn't it pretty sad that the default cursor on windows 7 is still EXACTLY the same as in windows 2.0 ? :|

  • @jakeman165 No it's actually not. The "head" of the arrow has gotten bigger, while the "tail" has gotten shorter.

  • vista is easy to hack

  • @greenday101000 of course it is. nobody likes vista and hackers want to destroy all computers with it installed :)

  • I wish I had Windows 7 :(

  • well basically win 98 was initially released in december 2007 because they wanted to finish it on christmas or something or something else, and was called win 97 but it was very flawed and was reworked and called 98 as we know it. There are copies of windows where it is called 97 but it is REALLY hard to find. Don't believe me? Google it. And sorry for my english, it is not my native.

  • Well i have the original disks of windows 3.0/3.1/3.11/ windows nt something (:P) and the original cd of windows 95, 95 usb version, windows 98 and 98 SE

  • this is quite interesting.

  • how do u punch it

  • @compdude100 You can change it so it is like the XP / Vista taskbar.

  • man xp is such a great os :')

  • Windows was doing shit until windows XP and then they made a HUGE fail on win Vista...Windows 7 is nice too...But for those who were using win Xp for helluva time the win 7 taskbar is hard to use :L

  • I'm not particularly fond of win 7's taskbar, but it's pretty much perfect in every other way.

  • xp and 7 thE BEEST

  • @compdude100 compare it to the source ;)

  • @iToasterman You can trust wikipedia when the info is backed up by a reliable source.

  • @blakeshake2 That really is true. The mac, which was the second GUI (after that xerox computer) was released in 1984. Do you remember that Superbowl commercial for the mac that was basically a scene from the movie "1984"? Windows 1.0 was released one year after the mac.

  • @KitanTm What are you talking about? Vista is so darn slow!!! My grandpa's laptop has it and it is really darn slow. But I'm afraid if I upgrade it to windows 7 he'll be calling me every day asking me how to use the windows 7 taskbar :|

  • @clockwise3559 Sorry but I never actually used Windows ME. I was just going off of what other ppl said about it.

  • @Weegeeisgoingtokillm 6/10 for speed? Really, that's all?

  • @bluejay55118 My school still uses windows XP, too! And I must agree with you that microsoft is shooting themselves in the foot with Windows 8 by making just one OS for tablets and PCs. Windows 7 is definitely better. Microsoft, in my opinion is making the same mistake they did with vista by putting in too many new features.

  • Eh, Macs are better!

  • I work at a hospital pharmacy where we run a massive prescription work queue program. We store and access the information of thousands of our patients. More the 11 years after it's release, we still run XP. People wonder why many businesses still run it. Probably because It was good and not as complicating as Vista and 7 for beginners. Also, I must be one of few who think they're shooting themselves in the foot with Windows 8.

  • this is amazing! this is just what i needed!

  • windows 2000 was on my school was really a crime using it Weird shitty GUI too

  • 0:18 Already something wrong. Windows 1.0 was more of an operating environment, a GUI for MS-DOS.
