@PhantomAct - I can remember travelling on routemasters which has no door and I didn't feel much difference really in winter.

They got rid of the last one because of health and safety but it must have affected tourism so much that they are launching them again. It's all for show. Look at that bike scheme - novice riders can just jump on one, without a helpet (because that would be a strategical nightmare to provide for people so it's 'forgotten about and accepted') and get squashed on londons dreadfully dangerous roads
