Hi Mari, I Suffer with D.I.D and SRA you do know your therapist is so right about trying to get clean after being raped as I was so many times. The memory will always remain but the pain, anger, Disgust will subside, trust me I have been In active therapy for 8 years now and We are still learning to trust.
Your therapist can read your body language. What one speaks is not the same as what the body language is telling. See your therapy as a journey of self discovery, one in which you get to explore healthy boundaries and know that those who abused you have ownership of their own problems. Not you.
It is so hard getting therapy started. It feels a bit awkward until you get used to one another and start to feel a comfort level and trust with a therapist. It takes a bit before delving into the deeper issues but it sounds like a great start. Glad you like him and therapy can be a great resource for helping to get a different perspective of things we can't always see ourselves. It's hard to see the bigger picture when you are standing in the middle of muck, you know?
Hi Mari, can you a) post an update video and b) get a facebook page so we can chat. thanx. love you! -jessie
