They want the money from the console market so the console market gets the new Battlefield.
EA Dice better be careful a rival game company doesnt replace PC BF2 with something better while EA are distracted harvesting their console profits.
It's been too long, BF2 fans are already tiring of a 4-year-old game and leaving the arena.

Ive played all the Battlefield games on pc for 9 years and xbox for 3 or so. And PC is still way better. And there is a BF3 Trailer and it says 3/4 2009 it was released this month (april). So Hope it follow through

This is going to cost around 20$ though, with retail game graphics and destructability, which even CoD4-5 doesn't have.
For console gamers this is a very big deal because many haven't played Battlefield before (unlike a lot of PC gamers), and also the xbox arcade downloads look like crap compared to this.

From what's been reported, it's *very* dumbed down. Looks enjoyable, however... but so far, it's definitely not Battlefield.
