W.E. A.L.L. B.E. Griots: Bro. Charles Richmond On Ida B. Wells, Percy Richmond & Alfred 'Skip' Robinson
Bro. Charles Richmond is a regular volunteer of the Ida
B. Wells Museum and a lifelong resident of Holly
Springs, MS....W.E. A.L.L. B.E. News caught up with
him during the 2011 Ida B. Wells Birthday Weekend
Celebration in July...He shared with us invaluable
knowledge on the missing chapters of the northern
Mississippi Civil Rights Movement from the 70s and
80s as well as shed light on a once well known,
legendary and unsung Civil Rights Leader of the era, the
late great Alfred 'Skip' Robinson whose legacy have
somehow been forgotten about by history some 25 plus
years after his mysterious death...He also shared with
us his love for the great Ida B. Wells and the incredible
exploits of his fearless brother, Percy Richmond, who
once beat up 20 white men by himself when he was
refused service at a local restaurant...Bro. Charles also
offers other pearls of wisdom for Black people living in
the world today...In other words, use history to make
history or you may end up as history!!!
