Actually, it reduces the taxes on lower income families who purchase less. Wealthier families that consume more will incur higher taxes. As well, there will be options to aid the lower income brackets, so as to not be affected by taxes, period.

So this DOES cut income taxes, and helps eliminate a source of billions in federal budget... all in all, great idea!

The only sad thing is that SO many people dislike Bush that Republicans will be lucky to win. I think Bush is a good president but his war tactics and issues with Iraq arent the greatest at all. Then again you cant just yank the troops out either like the Dems want to do, that'd be a mistake. (Iran)

"Yeah... overthrowing the government via violent revolution is really American!" -- While I didn't hear that coming from Mike and it should be reserved for the most extreme circumstances, the short answer is that yes, over throwing the government in a violent revolution is actually VERY American.

Yeah, lets take more and more money away from those who create the jobs and pay paychecks. Makes sense.

NO retail sales tax. I agree, our tax structure needs to be analysed and reevaluated. But NO RETAIL SALES TAX.
(From an Oregonian of course.)

A flat tax sounds good to me. But I have a feeling the rich will be able to slide by as usual.
How will the tax be collected??????????

The Federal Reserve Bank (and all banks currently involved in defining public policy) must go first, then issue federal government money that is 100% backed (gold, silver, etc.). Then remove the I.R.S. from existence.

you know and I know, Capitalism does not flourish by making concessions. Thus the idea that prices will go down is simply not true. Not to mention the impact it will have on inflation. What you might seriously consider is: Taxing the heck out of all goods, raw materials and services provided to and by american companies that are manufactured, created, distributed and/or provided outside U.S. territories and consumed/used etc. inside U.S. territories.
