Is it not true that the American Civil War to a large degree was instigated by the British Empire, The British Empire sent 10,000 troops to Canada during the Civil War and activily supported the Confederecy, the goal of the British was to balkanise North America and make the South a puppet state of the British Empire, that is thre reason why the Confederate Constitution forbade tariffs as the British wanted cheap cotten and wanted an agrarian South, food for thought.

@ProsperityGlobal The South was against tariffs (as it had always been since 1700s) b/c it depended on free trade with the world. Its international trade made it far wealthier than the Northern States. The North wanted tariffs to protect Big Business/New England industry. This tariff was a wealth transfer from Southerners to Northerners that would have destroyed the South. Western Europe's industrial rev. depended on Southern cotton until the 1860s - when they found other sources (Egypt, etc.).

The Southern Poverty Law Center has named the League of the South as a hate group. What is an intelligent retort to those allegations? I wish to form my own opinion.

@UGAyankee The SPLC is a far-Left, anti-Southern organisation with tens of millions in the bank. They make money by inflating the threat of racism, sending out scary reports to their list of mostly Northern donors (who have never been here and don't understand the South at all) and then begging for yet more money. Their directors live like kings off the millions they take in. It's basically a scam. Google the SPLC's leaders & read about their corruption.

They are closer to national-socialist or in other words fascism. They combine corporatism with rabid nationalism and warmonger and loss of liberty. Such is the US Empire today.

@RedShirtArmy The South was so wealthy due to the cotton trade. Cotton trade was so successful, due to slavery! So it is fair to say that the southern states got wealthy on the back of the slaves. I mean you don't even have to be an economist to know that you make huge profits if you don't pay your workers that work hard for 20 hours a day. So srew you racists!

@UGAyankee If you see anything with "Poverty Law" as part of their name you can be sure it's a leftist organization. They are socialist to the core. Fight them at all costs. Don't you find it strange that an organization that hates the average working class person turn around and calls another organization a hate group? If you could clarify for me and the rest of the world how socialism started please feel free as it would be far more helpful than simply stating that my point is BS. I live in a country that has a national health service........is this socialist because it is free? or is a service paid for out of the massive amount of tax we pay? Put it this way, I'd rather be poor here than poor in America
