mentioned that opinions differ. Sure, there are some not great music out there, but the point I was trying to make was that just because artists are allegedly in an environment where everything sounds the same, does not make it an impossibility for something beautiful and original to be produced.

@UltimaXG2 Wait, if this is comparing Coldplay with another band, you've just proved that you're musical insight is at the bare minimum. If you are going to say that another artist to Coldplay, at least try to a) spell the artist's name right (T-Pain, not T-Payne) and b) do it with a band that is at least in the same genre. However, I'm hoping this is in response to the "something beautiful" comment, and if you noticed my language, I said CAN or (can't) ie possibility and I further [cont.]

this huge stagnation in Western music and therefore music nowadays is bad for everyone and we should all be "GETTIN MAD" about it. It is just like an artistic culture in which, though there are shared techniques, does not mean that something beautiful and original can't be produced or exist.

because other Impressionists used similar techniques such as expressive brushstrokes, bright colour, working out of the studio, etc, yet Monet's work is still beautiful and original. The same could be said about Rene Magritte and the Surrealists, who also painted the illogical in a realistic manner, yet Magritte's work remains unique and fascinating as well. That is really disappointing. I was genuinely wanting to know who "everyone else" was. Next time you have the arrogance to rebuke another person's comment in such a way, you should substantiate your opinion with evidence rather than spiteful insults which do not further your argument in the slightest. Furthermore, this whole notion that they are like everyone else, does that make their music any less meaningless or beautiful? It is just like Monet who could be said not to be original [cont.]
