Illinois Firefighters Deploy to New Orleans 2005

My husband Richie and 13 fellow firefighters from his division were deployed to New Orleans one week after Hurricane Katrina devastated the Gulf Coast in Sept 2005. MABAS 27 here, I had a chance to go but i was in EMT school at the time. We sent our truck.

I'm from mabas 56. We went down in 2005. I was a very rewarding trip.

My husband is asking what towns are in 56?

My sweetie is w/ the New Orleans Fire Dept. Ya'll were so great to come down and help us. Your school children sent us comfort packages. I got a card and "Hello Kitty " bandaids and other needed items from lil J. Kupenski(sp?) and loved it.
