Huge Rattlesnake i almost steped on

My dog took a snake avoidance class this year and it obviously worked. Just before i went to step up onto a rock he jumped back and took off runing . as i looked down to see why he had run off, i noticed this HUGE ratlesnake. I have seen allot of rattlesnakes in my lifetime but this was definitely the thickest and longest. he was about the girth of a two litter bottle of soda, and about 4 ft long. We were throwing paper clips at him to get the rattle on camera.
