A driving composition by Milton Nascimento sung by the great Sarah Vaughan. The producer is Sergio Mendes and Ernie Watts does a great sax solo. George Duke is on keys. Its from the 1986 "Brazilian Romance" CD. Animation by Alvaro "Ted" Malave for Ernie Watts.

  • Oooh. VERY creative video. Thank youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu! : ) Sassy was The Best! : )

  • @TheKoolkanadian Thanks for the comment. I always loved this tune written by Milton Nascimento. It so happens my daughter is in Milton's hometown as I write. Great sax work from Ernie Watts and great producing by Sergio Mendes; then what can you say about Sassy; one of a kind.

  • Oh Lordy! Thanks so much for uploading this!!! My dad used to play this album a lot during my childhood and this was a favorite of mine. Great memories...thanks!!

  • @LadyofWar1980: Your dad must have great taste in music. This Sarah Vaughan CD is a lesser known work, but it was full of amazing songs. Specifically the Brazilian composers, Dori Caymmi, Ivan Lins and the composer of this song, MIlton Nascimento. I hope you inherited his great ears.

  • could someone post a song from this album that goes "In the name of love I will kiss you or I'll slap your cheek". I think it's called "Love and Passion". It's a duet. I have the LP on vinyl and haven't played it in years, like 18 years. I know it was her last release, but I have moreso gotten into cds more recently put out of her.

  • It is called "Love and Passion." It is a duet with the composer, Milton Nascimento; the same composer that wrote the song above. I'd be happy to e-mail you the mp3 if you contact me with an e-mail address.

  • Holding on to a teardrop of sun in the mouth of the niiiigggghhhttt!!!!!

  • "Nada serà como antes", tìtulo que refleja nuestro sentimiento porque Sarah ya no està con nosotros. Esto sucede cada vez que un gran artista se nos va. Gran canciòn compuesta por Milton Nascimento.

  • I love this album... Thanks for posting!!!

  • Luv the song and video...

  • My dad loved all genres of jazz music. My mother loved classic Salsa, American Soul/R&B, and Merengue. I'm glad I grew up on GOOD music on the first place! I still love a lot of it today (I'm 30 now). Don't get me wrong! I like SOME of the newer music but nothing compares to the great artist I grew up listening to. Sarah Vaughan is high on that list. I just can't believe I found it! LOL!

Thanks so much again for the upload and take care! :-)

  • this is a wonderful album. sarah got better as she aged. her artistry is remarkable. she can make love to a lyric ,making listening an intimate experience. as much as i love this collection, her album with legrand is her masterpiece.
