I am using dry ice (frozen co2) to generate large amounts of co2 as it melts and turns into gas. This is then bubbled through the bio reactor feeding chlorella vulgaris algae.
Great idea, but I don't think it will be cheaper. I can get a kilogram of dry ice for like 2$ And one kilogram of co2 in gas form is a really huge amount :)
You could probably get more control over the gas output using a drip feed arrangement of vinegar dripping onto sodium bicarbonate.Might be cheaper too.
