haiti's yellowbird ( choucoune ) is a traditional folk song, when i discovered this beautiful melody tizwezo ( guitar cover ) originated in the haitian-nation, i was reminded by their current situation in the carribean basin and assembled this video.

lapatrie nylon string guitar, vox valvetronix amplifier, sony vegas movie studio, wmm and photos from haiti relief.

  • why always show poverty when it comes to people of color? why always show hungry children when it comes to people of color? yes, there is poverty in the US and everywhere but certain people focus only on the poverty of people of color. Stop romanticizing people of color!

  • @pachacutti since 2002 i have raised money and contributed from my own pocket annually to a poor young family in siem reap, cambodia, i guess i should stop that too. all of the charity work i did vancouver's east end and east side was for not and contributing for more than 10 years to amnesty international has been waste of time and money.

thankyou for sharing your values publicly!

  • wonderful......you did a great job nice flow

  • @scrappylor when i researched the song's origin, instantly became re-attached to haiti's slow recovery :(

  • I really enjoyed the music and images in this one. Really good work, tugs at the heart strings.

  • @Munutkangkao thanks munutkangkao, it's a slower version than the original piece, it just felt right at this pace as i was learning it.....

  • @pachacutti This has nothing to do with romanticizing people of color. .The song originated in the Haitian nation ,To me it seems fitting that the people would be of color.

this is a beautiful heartfelt tribute.
