Twining is a traditional swedish knitting technique, popularized in several books. It makes a thick, dense, squishy, durable fabric with more elasticity than stranded knitting, and would last far longer for mittens which are used(work mittens of the past). I used it to hem a sweater for my boy child, it gave a non-roll stockingstitch like hem. The more complex knit and purl patterning is quite beautiful and unlike any other knitting because of the thickness of the fabric. I'm not that good yet.

Took out a book from local library regarding this knitting, looks beautiful. Think I'm going to try making a pair of fingerless mits starting in May for next winter.

Thank you for this video. It's nice and easy to understand and you give great examples. I'm so glad to find more info on twined knitting and especially on holding the yarn as there is very little info on that aspect I've found, especially for one like myself who learns best by watching rather than reading and visualising.
