At a bluegrass jam in Squaw Valley, CA on January 26, 2008, Gerald Prock plays Black Mountain Rag on the fiddle, accompanied by flatpickers Sam Criswell and Yoseff Tucker. Unfortunately, the camera battery went out before the song was completed. (Sorry!)

  • Do you know if he and his family lived in Lebanon Missouri in the 70s? I knew a Gerald and Eleanor Prock in those days.

  • That is definitely the same Gerald Prock! His wife's name was actually "Elnora", but you were close. They performed country music together on the radio many years ago. Elnora passed away in 2007. I understand that they were from Missouri originally and had gone back there for awhile when Elnora became ill. After she passed, Gerald moved back to CA where he and Elnora had lived for many years.

  • @57silverhawk she actually went by Elnor, which is probably why why cliff1000able thought Eleanor was her name. and Gerald was actually visiting his son and "musicin' " back in Missouri for a while, seeing as how he hadn't seen his son who's he's very close to since the passing of his wife. he left to go back to California yesterday and is on the road as we speak. I know all this because Gerald and Elnora are my grandparents! :)

  • @lovealwaysshay

Wow! That means that the famed and fabled Otis Pierce was your great-grandfather! What a legacy!

  • Anyone know where Gerald is now?

  • I believe Gerald is living in Lemoore, California, and still playing the fiddle.
