Technological unemployment is another important issue, as more and more businesses automate. Not enough discussion about that new problem. There is a taking advantage of people who will accept low wages, and then have to work 2 or 3 jobs to make it. I live in Palm Desert, and I may have to leave because of the lack of jobs.

What you say is true. The lack of jobs is because of the foreiner that are here in the US. You said the labor was needed for construction, fine. But now you go to a hotel and the person claening your room, bussing your dinner table,ect. is mexican. I find it hard tobelieve that a anglo american can't do the job. Most fastfood places are now staffed with 75% hispanics, same with janitor services, city services like garbage and road construction. Get rid of them and there will be jobs available

Very true when people don't spend and pay down debt and save more the system collapses, the reason why tthis recession has dragged on so long is lack of jobs and consumption. The consumer culture will die hard.
