You know what's really tragic? Real, authentic, and innovative legends like this man are constantly overshadowed by the Cliff Burtons of the world---musicians whose legacies are immortalized simply on account of their being dead. If you were to ask anyone born after 1990 to name a bass "icon," they're more than likely going to say Cliff Burton. They wouldn't even know who John Entwistle was (even though they would probably know his band, The Who). Sad, sad, sad I tell you.

I was born in 1994 and love John but I can vouch for you, I was talking to a friend about assembling the ultimate supergroup (alive or dead) and when I said John he was like "who" to that I replied "No The Who". After watching this he said that Cliff was better and when I asked why, he said nothing. To me that was pure arrogance in the face of one of the greatest bass players to have ever existed.

And you're a moron who can't make a distinction between substance and style. That's why you're pathetic. Truth be told, you aren't worthy of living among civilized society. You're a fucking knuckle-dragger who's easily distracted by bright lights and funny sounds. Talk about self-worth...

I think I understand what you're saying, and I agree. The problem is that MOST people give so much credit to Burton just because a bus fell on his head. Period. Burton had talent, and yes he had skill, I'll admit that... but he wasn't the best. Far from it. Entwistle is light-years ahead of him. Geddy Lee is much more innovative. Steve Harris is probably the best metal bassist ever. I could go on and on. Yet they're all overshadowed by Burton just because he's dead. That's what irritates me.

    "skill doesn't really matter"

Ah, so you're saying it's all about showmanship. Never mind skill. Never mind artistic integrity. If you have "emotion" (or YOUR version of it anyway, i.e. showmanship) that's all that matters.

That speaks worlds about your sorry ass. You're the reason pop music exists. You're the reason talentless hacks like Justin Beiber gain so much popularity. You're the reason Britney Spears is a household name. No talent. All "emotion."

    Fuck, you're pathetic...
