Toobee, first of the great flying gyroscopic toys. Invented over a decade before copycat toys Zoom Tube and X-Zylo. USA Today Newspaper said "Toobee could be the next Fad Craze";"Hottest item since the Frisbee!" Toobee weighs less than a marshmallow safe indoors or out. Sails, soars, swoops and curves. World distance record is 283 feet. Interesting Fact: The Baltimore Orioles Pitching staff was throwing Toobee experimenting with control techniques over a decade before the "gyroball" was invented. Copycat toys include X-zylo and Zoom Tube. Fun.--- http://www.toobee.com

  • My mom's cousin-in-law invented the "Toobee." I'm not kidding in the slightest.

  • My Ass!

  • I,m from Australia and i've got a stubbie holder that does the same thing! It wont travel the same distance but the theory behind it is the same. oh a stubbie is a small bottle of beer

  • There's a TV ad here. Search "Wham-O Turbo Tube". That's not what i had as a kid. Mine was pink, had scalloped openings in the sides & was molded out of one piece of thermoplastic material like a Frisbee. Maybe I had a later version?

  • IIRC, Wham-O called it the "Turbo-Tube"

  • I just found the patent from 1966. It was registered to W.B. Morrow from Wham-O Manufacturing & there were multiple similar patents going from the 50's back to the 30's for similar designs, but AFAIK, the Wham-O version was the first in production.

  • The Toobee is NOT the original. Neither is the X-Zylo. They're identical to eachother, but they are differently made, semi-low-buck copies of the molded, semi-rigid plastic flying ring from the early 70's. It was possibly made by Mattel or one of the other bigger toy companies & came in fluorescent colors like pink, orange, etc. I had one & I've been trying for years to find info on them. I just can't remember the name of the product.

  • Toobee or not Toobee? That is th...oh nevermind :(

  • where can i get this XD

  • via ebay kopen? xD
