  • @VJDTropical

Feminism isn't about superiority of females over males. Most feminists do believe in equality of gender, but the problem is society is still far from providing equal opportunity.

  • Call me insane, but Polly Walker was the sexiest one in the series, in a weird sort of way :-)

  • @lilbrothaaa you're right with that, yeah.

  • @Kathrinoyo What I wanted to say is that the common conception of women having been the true leaders of most societies during history by sleeping their way up into mighty men's beds is generally a myth even though there have been a few women who achieved it this way.

  • @Saiaton sister, this is pure nonense, born out of megalomania. Sure, there war distinctive roles and women, especially in sparta and rome, weren't that oppressed as many people would think - but their power had very strict limits. After all, I would say live could be pretty good for a female patrician, or pretty bad.. given the right circumstances.

  • @jojhabib Dude, seriously - this is propagana. Read some facts about ancient greece. Especially in athens, women were sometimes not even allowed to leave their homes. Their role was strictly to give birth and raise female kids. Amongst greeks, they didn't have any proper rights. The only exception was sparta with his strong cult of Artemis, but even there, women never had the same right as men.

  • @gwak4299 While you are right about fighting women in rome, which would never have been possible, their status wasn't nearly as close to slaves, as you present it. They were educated like men, sometimes even more, they ran businesses if there were no male relative at hand, they were able to divorce and had the right to claim property, especially if they were of noble birth. They didn't have the same rights as men but they were way more free and powerfull as say.. ancient greek women.

  • @lilbrothaaa "because all powerful men can choose among many women" - as can women aswell. The "power behind the throne" is not a myth, there are certain female figures in history who claimed that exact position and helped or even drove their men to power and glory.

  • @Intranetusa unfortunately, this message has been corrupted by men seeking to ingratiate themselves with women, and with women who do not understand that justice is blind and cannot truly exist when exceptions exist for anyone. equality cannot be enforced via special provision, it can only grow from true capability. the corrupted feminism movement has tricked far too many women into thinking they need to be provided with artificial advantages in order to achieve equality with men.

  • @bxjam85 I'm against the whole "feminism" thing..While I do believe women should be respected and treated well... men and women are different!! We are built differently both physically and psychologically...it's nature! I'm not saying that a woman can't run a company or anything like that.. but it's ridiculous to not make the distinction that men and women have been/are/will be always different I'm perfectly content being a woman..having a man be more dominant, stronger etc.

  • @jojhabib 'women also did the fighting'??

There is no doubt they play an integral role in Roman life, but no historian is ever going to claim that women fought alongside men to any extent that would support your statement. As far as the Roman 'sacra' was concerned it was all about the man and the male blood line. Women's status was akin to that of a slave, the head of the family held the power of life and death, the 'patriapotestas'.

You should write a series - 'Roman women on the front line'.

  • @DurhamLady Women have also become harder to get along with and form life long bonds with, thus making their physical beauty and their primary sexual organ the most valuable qualities to the average man.
