Radney Foster CO-WROTE this song with a guy named Bobby Houck from the Charleston SC band Blue Dogs, based on something Bobby's father said to him. Don't get me wrong Radney Foster is awesome but this was a Bobby Houck song from the very beginning.

@jeepnutt78 very good point. i was looking for rodney and realized i clicked on the wrong one. i was about to get angry at covers, but he performed this one very well. Kept the steel guitar and gave it his own his own touch with an electric guitar. I know its not common, i just wish they'd give credit where credit is due. It's a beautifuly written song.

@digitalgt1 Who cares? 95% of artist don't write their own music. They may Co write some of them but most of them are written by song writers, then submited to artist. They either cut them or turn them down. If you want to start debating about artist covering songs, Everyone of them is guilty! At least Gary Allan didn't fuck the song up. Like Jason Aldean screwed up Brantley Gilberts songs.

Instead of loving Gary and this song, maybe you should look at Radney Foster.....yanno the guy who wrote this song. All Gary Allen did was cover it like a Friday Night Honky Tonk band.

@MJ23Jr88Me3 Yeah right, why should the best country artist in the last 20 years have more awards when there is shit bands like Lady Antebellum racking up the awards for subpar trash where every song sounds exactly like the last song they did? Screw the country awards crap as it is a contest for the corporate douche bag bands with no real quality versus guys like Gary Allan. Gary rocks, Lady douche bag, not so much.
