It's ugly, it's clunky, it's sluggish, but damn, does the music sound nice. We're talking about the Super NES version of Doom here, a really impressive port considering the hardware it's running on. And that music... I can swear Williams could have simply taken the Roland Sound Canvas soundtrack and made it work with the SPC700 in the Super NES. Regardless, the Super NES soundtrack is magnificent; very deep and powerful.

I agree with your thoughts on this soundtrack. It takes a new turn on Doom music. Instead of sounding all badass and action-packed, its more dark and foreboding. I actually think this style would have fit Doom 3 PERFECTLY.
