Louis Armstrong is the musical Nelson Mandela of his time: most of his life a black citizen in a North American segregated society. The man kept smilin' tho' he had little - as an equal and free citizen of the USA - to smile about. Charismatic, democratic, universal, a man to be proud of. Just like Madiba.

The world was lucky enough to have a man like this and in tears when it lost him. Such an incredible talent. This man had a heart. You listen to a man like this and everything else sounds like garbage. 5 dislikes? Who in their right mind would dislike this legend?

Think the recording was done in New York with Columbia back in the 50's. I've got it on a Polydor double L/P (with lots of other wonderful Louis recordings from the same period) "The very best of Loius Armstrong"
