@shitnamese401 No, they 're doing this for a purpose and they don't want or plan to learn Khmer...Cuz they re planing to spread Vietnamese all over Cambodia and conquer.....they've used their people to conquer Champa (central Vietnam) Khmer Krom (South Vietnam)...their culture and language is strong if they live together and pass on to their children, it's about the weak and strong society

Viets used this tactic to conqer Cambodia,

Lol seriousely, why they live on the water? what is the advantage compared to normal land houses?

@nmsamnang Vietnam population as of 2011 is over 90 million. Cambodia population as of 2011 4 million! Vietnam is one of the densely populated country in the world! Where would all these viets go where there is no more land! Cambodia is right next door!

I was lucky to see this, I was in Siem Reap to visit Angkor Wat and instead of waiting for the taxi or bus to show up we decided to take a ferry down to Phnom Penh and seen these wonderful floating villages and huge bamboo traps on the riverbanks and small long islands as gardens...I really enjoyed that moment after Angkor wat..it was very exciting. Nice video have many myself but dont know where to start to make a video..lol keep up the good work.
Are you Japanese or Caucasian? Also, I notice a Canadian accent here and there.
BTW, I really like this video. I hope to sidetrack into this on my trip in 2011. Thanks!

@tnaktnom Hey Glad you enjoyed it. And very well done with your accent identification, eh! I'm originally from central Canada, but have been in Japan for the last ten years.

Really exotic place. People there seems happy. I'm wondering why the Vietnamese that live there don't speak Cambodians, though.

Apparently they came up the river when the Viet Namese liberated the country from the Khmer Rouge, and then just kind of lived separate lives on the edge of the lake. but now they are needing in integrate into society.
