one can see mumtaj ali in the dance, father of comedian mehmood...he was also dance director of the film ALBELA...song was written by rajendra krishan and sung by lata jee and chitalker that is c ramchandra.

i initially became aware of this song in 1975 when studying for my icse boards, and the song, played repeatedly for garba, successfully managed to displace algebra and trigonometry from my head. on resolving to see this film after the exams, imagine my surprise to learn that this was a generation older. how well it holds up even to this day!

Bhagwandada was baap of ol comedians.time forgot him and he got lost like many successful of that time.i do respect Kamlahassan for giving him bit of lift in one
Of his films,it was a very small part in one song but dadas style gave life to that song,thanx Kamlabhai.

Bhagwandada was a superstar in those days...he was awesome. Amitabh Bachchan was highly inspired from this genius.

I have heard that Bhagwan Dada lost quite a lot of money after this song and it never took off during the times. But after he sold all rights to some distributor, this song was a hit and like so many coincidences of the bollywood industry - the distributor made quite a money from this song !! Till this day in fact !!

Don't know about you guys but watching from 4:14 till the end of the song, I can confidently say that Bhagwan-dada all but invented "tapori"-style dancing .
