Silent Hunter 4 in Easy mode.

This is a collage of three sessions of the Battle of Midway mission. The game is played on a 4 year old P 2.4 with 1GB ram, Radeon X1650 Pro 512MB. The graphics settings are turned up, most effects off. The explosion on the carrier slows down some but remember, this is a minimum spec machine and a scenario with dozens of ships and planes.

  • Using 6 torpedos on a Shokaku class carrier is a bit of a overkill in the game. Normally 3 will do, and if you're lucky, 2 should be enough for a slow kill; as the process of a slow capsizing should do the trick.

    Good job though.

  • @CSSBT True, but I like to simulate how they did it in real life. And when a carrier came into their sights, the US skippers would let rip with everything they had :)

  • Holy fuck she went to the moon!

Also I love the little effecta, like pilots bailing out and the zeroes getting thrown like toys on the deck of the carrier.

  • @MrLegendarypedobear I hope it works cause I'm gonna buy it down the track.

  • @MarekUtd Your graphics card is decent though that is what is confusing me . Your processor is perfect, your memory I presume is RAM is good, but that graphics card hmm.

  • @MarekUtd No problem

  • @TheZorseWhisperer everywhere i read people say SH4 is better then SH5 which is apparently riddled with bugs.

  • @MrLegendarypedobear yeah toshiba....great thanks!

  • @MarekUtd You have a toshiba right? Yes you would be able to run this game. I think you can run it on the highest I am trying to remember I don't know for sure but yeah you will definitely be able to run this.

  • i'm not very computer savvy....does anyone know if this game will work on my rig?

    CPU: CPU Intel® Core™ i5 processor 2410M (2.30/2.90GHz, 1333MHz FSB, 3MB L2 Cache)

    GFX: NVIDIA® GeForce GT 525M 1GB (2170MB Total: 1024MB dedicated memory + 1146MB shared memory)

    Memory: 4GB DDR3 (1333Mhz)

  • this or silent hunter 5?

  • I remember playing a game similar to this on my Commodore Amiga in the mid nineties. I remember playing a mission called 'sink the Yamato'. The copy protection was in the form of matching the sillouette of a ship on screen at the beginning of the game to that of one in the user manual and typing in what type of ship it was before you could continue and play. Memories.
