This is my take on how to read the Nutrition Facts Label on food products. I hope this video will help those who don't know how to read it (I was one). Enjoy the video!

DISCLAIMER + NOTES: Okay this video was made BASED on a US FDA 2k calorie diet. It does not recommend a 2k diet for everyone, because everyone are different, based on consumption, weight etc. So choose accordingly, in fact here's a website to help you out on the rightful amount of nutrients calories, etc www.mypyramid.gov

In the video I'm pretty sure i said "BASED", but somebody pointed out I said otherwise. So please, everytime you hear me say US FDA 2000 calorie diet, I meant to say BASED on that. Props to PrepeiNaSasPw for pointing it out!

  • don't you guys get in trouble for advertising different foods?

  • We are not advertising, we are just providing some examples.

  • Okay, you don't know what you are talking about and that is dangerous. The FDA does NOT recommend a 2000 calorie diet. It simply lists what percentage of your daily intake each thing represents based on a 2000 calorie diet. You might need more or less, and it depends on your weight.

  • hello

You are right, I did notice that my voicing was unclear at times during the video & when i said the US "recommends" a 2k calorie diet, it was meant to say BASED on a US FDA 2000 calorie recommended diet (In fact I even said "based" a couple times if you listen carefully). continued...

  • Yes I'm aware of the situation that a person changes their calorie diet accordingly, but I guess I failed to include that in the video. In my future installments I'll try to incorporate that in it & place a disclaimer on the description of this video. Much thanks for pointing this very true fact out!

  • New FDA Video on Nutrition Facts Label:

Search for "Food Label & You" on YouTube and look for the one that was done in Feb, 2010.

  • Hey Good Lookng! Thanks for the info ;-)

  • enjoyed the video thanks! im a nutrition major so it helps to know more

  • "The US FDA allows rounding error", ha ha it came an unexpected but true statement

  • When I buy bulk foods at a health food store, they often have nutrition facts on the bin.

And if you get like pomegranate juice (to drink sparingly, it's pretty high in sugar), then it's in a bottle.

  • i dont eat anything with a nutrition facts label. if you believe youre getting nutrition from a bag of chips... you need help.

  • Yay, great video! Very informative.. I'm English so it's a bit different here to the USA.. but then I visit America often so yeahh.. thanks for info!! =)
