From the liner notes to 'Live @ the Fillmore East: 'He used a fuzz face, Wah-Wah pedal, Uni-Vibe and Octavia and it was incredible... there were people in the audience with their mouths open.'

I'd like people to start debating the meaning of the very end solo, with all the harmonics and psychadelic frequencies that gets cut off at the end. I kind of get the vibe that it's supposed to represent the memories that he might have felt at night when trying to sleep, that odd ringing inside of a uncomfortable memory, the sudden bursts of machine gun only to go back to that piercing reality. I've also heard it be said that it represents tragedy of countries and people after wars. Ideas?

hendrix was a great and meaningful songwriter who was overlooked for some of the more pop bands like the beatles until after he died too bad i think he would have come up with many more golden albums

One of, if not his greatest solo ever. Amazing legato phrasing & expression. This is definitely what it sounds like when a musician transcends his instrument and plays . . . . . his own soul. The overall effect and imagery can only be likened to artsong.
