  • @PaulCumbers

    Excellent !

  • 1)The Duke. 2)St.Louis Blues. 3)In Dancing Mood. with Paul Desmond (as), Dave Brubeck (piano), Gene Wright (ac.bass), Joe Morello (drums). very nice moments.

  • He's in charge of smoking.

  • As previously mentioned, 'Bob', this pilot was produced (at The Black Hawk in San Francisco) by Jay Ward as a potential syndicated series- had this been sold as a weekly show, he would have filmed various jazz groups at different night clubs and other performing venues [two per episode: this prototype featured Brubeck and, in the second half of the show, the Modern Jazz Quartet]...

  • Both Dave Brubeck and Mort Sahl were on the cover of TIME magazine, at separate times.

  • Mort Sahl was not only a standup comic of some renown, but a late night talk/jazz host on KGO in San Francisco, at the time this was filmed---was this produced at KGO-TV, and intended as a pilot for a show to air on the parent ABC network?

  • great, thks for sharing!

  • I count every time I've seen Dave in concert as ome of the highlights of my life!

  • "Take Five" was recorded the same year this and "Rocky" was made.[1959].
