Continued experimentation with my home made magnetron, I was finally able to sputter copper metal on to glass once my chamber pressure lowered to about 300 micron.

  • Question. I am wondering how this would work with DUAL magnetron - one on the top and one on the bottom? Would this confine the beam??

  • @nehockc hmmm.... not sure. try building one and let me know how it goes.

  • No I don't think so... the green plasma is from the excited copper, using different target metals will change the color. There is sometimes a blue-green glow that comes from glass during vacuum experiments but that is NOT the green hue I’m referring to

  • green hue is actually from it being a good vacuum, you can see this in certain light bulbs

  • Never mind.

  • Where are the magnets?
