Nationwide, the percentage of in vitro fertilization cycles that result in pregnancy for women using their own eggs ranges from 18 to 45 percent, depending on age and other factors. A new method for evaluating eggs developed by Barry Behr, PhD, could help improve these outcomes by helping predict which eggs collected from a woman will lead to a viable pregnancy.
