I lived in the NYC market section of New Jersey for most of my life up until 2007, I still remember the great job Tom Dunn and Sara Lee Kessler did on the WOR-TV newscasts. I still watch My 9 news via the Dish Network superstations package, and IMO, Harry Martin and Brenda Blackmon are filling Tom's and Sara Lee's shoes well, and those are big shoes to fill.

Fantastic! In elementary school I would always watch Channel 9 News at Noon when I came home for lunch. Loved Sara Lee Kessler, Tom Dunn & Lloyd Lindsay Young. Thanks for posting these!

I seem to recall that prior to Edd Kalehoff's theme music taking effect, "News at Noon's" "theme music" was a teletype sound effect.

What about the News At Noon opens from before 1981??? Any in the 1970s?

I remember the original poster of this video about three years ago mentioning the theme was free w/o a license. Too bad they only used the theme for about a year. This is one of Edd's Classic game show meets hard news packages.
Listen, could you find me any News At Noon open/closing videos before 1981, at least in the 70s?

@tyrese3745 - I already have two on my channel, the "Folk Fridays" and "Record Collection" closes, both from 1976.

It's good to see Sara Lee again. Thanks for the upload. The animation was done by Channel 9's one man art department Jerry Miller. Gerry was responsible for all of the promo animations and opens and closes that you've uploaded. He was amazing. He was having music recorded in London for the station's fall promotions one year. As I recall they recorded in London because they could get a great price there. He convinced the composer, Edd Kalehoff, to throw in the news theme for free. Neil Borrell

@ascotclone - Not a bad deal, huh? :-) And yeah, seems like many TV composers recorded music across the pond for the price breaks...I know the original music package for The Price is Right (which Kalehoff also had a hand in) was recorded there.
