I love being down by the sea, it doesn't matter if it's the eastern seaboard, the Caribbean or the rugged beauty of the Pacific North West. There is something calming in just watching the surf come in and listening to the waves. Birds drifting overhead and the smell of the salty air are all part of the experience, and it doesn't even have to be a sunny day. Drizzle or rain is just part of the experience and that even goes in the Caribbean, that's why plants are so lush and green.
Walk through one of the many State Parks in Washington or Oregon along the coast and you will be amazed at how green the parks are, towering trees covered in moss and the constant sound of the surf in the back ground lulling you to a peaceful place of relaxation. I think one time Cindy and I will rent an RV and spend a few days right in one of the parks that allow campingm maybe have a couple of bicycles and ride along the boardwalk and through the many trails.
In the cities like Ilwaco checking out the marina is fun for me, the fishing boats all have a story to tell and on this trip we lucked out at seeing many pelicans right in the marina diving for fish.
Love being down by the sea. The beach is Long Beach Washington - home to the World's Longest Beach and the marina is at Ilwaco.
