There's really no controversy. The Soviet Union was far superior than Russia is and likely ever will be. If it still existed, it would definitely be a more prevalent entity than Russia.

Countries such as Afghanistan, Somalia, Pakistan, Zimbabwe, Sudan, and Congo are the products of a weak government. How do they compare to well controlled states like Cuba, China, and Saudi Arabia?

No comparison. Countries with weak government as advocated by the righties are shit holes. They don't compare at all with even totalitarian states. Extreme government and no government are both bad, but no government is far worse.

That shows government should lean more to the strong side.

Anyway, if you believe America is a true government-free country, you're a joke. Your right wing dream of no government is a myth. Government is a HUGE part of the American economy and has been since the Civil War.

If you don't like government, you can go to Somalia or Afghanistan. Both are failed states. Comparing countries with no real government to those with too much, which do you really think are better?

Who do you think works more? A CEO (#1 job is to tell people what to do, basically) or a construction worker (who actually contributes to the raising of buildings with their time and strength)?

Now who gets paid more?

In capitalism, it's the CEO. In socialism, there are theoretically no CEOs. The only CEO is either a government oversight council in feasible socialism which does not get paid much, or the public itself in theoretical communism.

Capitalism doesn't pay based on how much you work. It typically pays based on what you are born with and what you can cheat yourself into without doing any work.
