Pirates using the US Military SATCOM system to chat. Picked up in Bridlington, UK on 29th April 2008 at 23.05 UTC using just a simple indoor dipole antenna with a Uniden UBC-785XLT scanner. Signals must be strong, the antenna in use is on top of the wardrobe in my bedroom! http://www.transmission1.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=7883 and join the discussion.

  • Great audio and I am quite impressed that you receive mil SATCOM with only a dipole antenna. Frankly, it's videos like the which got me back into scanning the VHF and higher frequencies again. To listen to more of these satellietes I see a 250 MHz, RHCP helix in my future. However, since I live on a small sailboat, that could prove to be a bit problematic! ha ha

Thanks for Posting the video -

  • @NZScanner hmm i might try it ill have to think about it. but it shoulnt be much of a problem im more of an analog person too

  • @GMSamuelRhine

With analog radio if you troll a couple of times in a public place your likely to get away with it. But continuous use can be tracked with direction finding. The famous brazilian satcom pirates got caught. There was also another case of someone who got prison in the US for jamming marine distress, police and fire frequencies.

  • @NZScanner shit you got a good point there

  • @GMSamuelRhine

Unless you want to get stamped with a criminal record, fined and have your equipment seized I won't recommend it

  • lol thats badass im gotta try that one day

  • US(e) military satellites - for brazilian folks ! :)

  • What are they using to communicate over US military satelite modded HAM radio equipment???

  • Isso Comanda, Foram a grande maior preso. Cara isso dá vergonha. Sabiam o que estão fazendo e acharam que iam ficar impunes. hahaha. Now everyones go the Jail.... haheuaheuahe

  • Pelo sotaque eles são paraenses, com certeza.
