I believe both in religion and science. God had a ideal image of the universe, but it did take time. God doesn't just magically make things, we can see that in science. If He and She could do it then why doesn't He and She do it now, it takes time. God doesn't present himself because he doesn't have a physical body, the universe is an expression of God, like an artist's painting is an expression of them self.

..............2nd Peter chapter 3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.........

@ApologeticsBenJoiner "because of the context, it probably refers to sea creatures that were worshiped "
I dont see that context in the passages that you speak of. Yes people worshiped animals in back then and even today , but What does that have to do with the order of events in these passages.(birds...land animals)
The Story seems perrty clear to me. Im confused at your confusion: Especially if you claim to have the holy spirit inside you, which is suppose to give you spiritual discernment?

@ApologeticsBenJoiner ' creeping things. This is a Hebrew term for what we would call rodents"
ok fine i didnt say Mammnals either They came later then many other land animals as well.
Im saying What animals did he make on fifth day? Birds and fish , right?
What about the Sixth day? wouldnt that include reptiles mamamls and other land vertabrates like dinosaurs? Right?
Thing is we know all these kinds of animals were around 100's of millions of years before birds.
as for birds before dinosaurs etc. The 6th day isn't the creation of all land mammals, just the ones that are mentioned which also were worshiped as divine by those ancient peoples. Land mammalian carnivores, cows, and rodents. So lots of land animals could have already existed with this text, but it does put birds and whales before the 3 it mentions. The issue is that these ancient peoples had no notion of dinosaurs and so didn't worship them as Gods.

"These would all be mammals " No not just mammals it says all creatures that move along the ground are made on the sixth day. But he made Birds before that on the 5th day. But we know Many land animals exist 100s of millions of years before birds. Are you saying We just havent found any Bird fossils that old yet but we will?

@Greathiway "And God said, "Let the earth bring forth living creatures according to their kinds—
must be mammalian life because living creatures means "breath of life" This doesn't mean ALL mammal life though. "livestock and creeping things and beasts of the earth according to their kinds." It's not everything that "moves on the ground'' the words that are translated as that literally translate to: creeping things. This is a Hebrew term for what we would call rodents

@Greathiway The wording for the 5th day is for birds and then sea creatures that "have the breath of life in them." i.e. whales, dolphins, seals, walruses. But because of the context, it probably refers to sea creatures that were worshiped which is probably whales. Although there could be some link to dolphins and old mermaid legends perhaps? I wonder how far back that stuff goes? There's a lot more for me to learn about it really.
