@theivin It is very sad... you're right ... and what Craig Lucas did with this play was to make the audience feel bad for laughing... it's what's known as a Dark Comedy... or in this case...VERY dark.

That's great! it's a really surrealistic play...and the way we edited this version of the play was really very artistically thought out by the director...and was quite successful. Break a leg! :)
