Recently I got a couple of broken-ish PCBs from my work. They had a nice FPGA on it, and most of these still worked. Time for some VHDL-hacking! The FPGA is connected to a board with 2 TDA2030s providing the deflection for the 6" CRT you see here. The complete contraption runs Asteroids, a modified version from fpgaarcade.com The CRT is a color one, so I am planning on porting color games like Major Havoc. Perhaps if I manage to make a VHDL version of the Mathbox, I can even run stuff like I Robot and Tempest...
uhhh watch out for the x-rays/High voltage
