I had a metal piece put in and a plate over it ,the surgeon says they dont do the bone graft anymore because its bad for the hip where it is taken from
Just had the C5/C6/C7 and I wished I had this done a couple of years ago. One can be surprised at the amount of pain you can learn to deal with. After 2 days I no longer have any neck pain, outside of the surgery, and very minor numbness in my pinkie finger on my right hand. The left arm was the real problem and it feels almost completely healed. But I've still got to give this some more time to heal! I wish everyone else the very best with their issues.
@dadsafarmer93 No, a cervical fusion prevents the fused vertebrae from moving. And bone is known to graft really easily and pretty quickly, so they'll actually be fused almost like a single bone any time from 2 weeks to 3 months.
